On June 22, 2009, the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009 (the Act) was signed into law, giving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the authority to regulate tobacco products.
Some aspects of the new law have already begun, and others will be phased in over the coming years.
